I have not tried to grow 'Melanie S.' myself (notwithstanding the fact that it is not readily available). It looks very nice but it's a pity that it is one of that class of snowdrops/plants that only perform to their full potential when settled. That sort of thing is a gift to eBay fraudsters because it could be years before you realise that you have bought a fake. I'm sure Wim Boens is 'legit' so this is a good opportunity to buy a snowdrop with excellent provenance.
That's more than true, Alan. It only turned "regular" in its third year over here (and I bought mine directly from Valentin) but in some gardens it never seems to get the "even inner segments" (like is the case for John Grimshaw)...But she is a thing of beauty when she has grown to her full potential.
I'm also offering some other drops, more common ones for fixed prices...have to finance my plant-addiction someway
