Dima writes: "It is so exciting to have a new comer to my colchicum's collection - spring-flowering Merendera ghalghana Otsch. 1963 (Ingush Merendera; 3-4 narrow leaves, papery tunics and splitted perianth tube), - the Western, Central & Eastern Caucasian endemic species. It really exsits and it is for sure not trigyna, nor raddeana or even not C. szovitsii as K. Persson considers it now - see corms for comparison."
Merendera ghalghana, W Caucasus
Merendera trigyna (coriaceous tunics), N Caucasus vs Merendera ghalghana (papery tunics), W Caucasus
Colchicum szovitsii subsp. szovitsii, S Transcaucasia, Armenia
Merendera raddeana, S Transcaucasia, Armenia

new image from Dima: " here, the fresh lifted, but tricky late autumn-winter (synanthous and histeranthous) flowering corms of colchicums (suboptimally frost-resistant and highly susceptible to fungal infections, if clear agricultural practices are not followed) "
freyni (syn. zangezurum) chimonantum
tulackii tuviae polyphyllum
