Mega seeds from a new contact
« on: October 15, 2015, 11:45:15 AM »
UPDATE: Seller is V.Piatek@seznam.cz

I wired €54 to the Czech Republic a week ago for some pretty rare seeds but with some scepticism. Well here they are! Bulging bags of Pulsatillas so fresh even the tough yellows should come up well. Am I allowed to name the seller here? Contact me at theplantboy@gmail.com for details.

You can also follow their progress in my online column for the Press and Journal website which is aimed at getting "ordinary" gardeners to grow plants they might never have thought of ,  or even heard of, in damp, windy Scotland. I encourage growing as much from seed as possible too. It's not your average "now plant your tatties" things.

Yes, Chris, forumists are able to name folks with good seed offers. Glad you've been pleased with the ones you've got.

Thanks for sharing this with us Chris. It is always great to hear of good sellers out there. Just had a look at your blog too. Very interesting and impressive.

In fact, Vladislav Piatek's seed site  has been included in the SRGC Links pages since 2007!

Last weekend I met Vladislav Piatek and his wife at the Autumn Conference of the
Prague Rockgarden Club at Lisek. They were very pleased about the friendly
comment about their seeds.

That's good to hear, Rudi.
I was thinking about you all at the weekend - I expect it was a good event, as always ?

Yes, good to hear that they are good seed. I've been contemplating an order but am trying to restrain myself as I will never have enough space!

Maggi, you are right, we had a nice time in the company of the fellow rockgardeners in the
excellent Hotel Skalsky Dvur in Lisek, Moravia. 88 participants enjoyed 10 lectures and a
plant sale with many rare plants.  Kirsten Andersen and Lars Hansen from Denmark,
Herman Laporte from Belgium and we 6 Germans joined the meeting. This event was really
worth the 660 kilometer drive.
Attached are pictures from the hotel and the region.
