Maybe Heliotropium europaeum ?

Checking online  you will find photos of plants with a  very similar habit to the one in your pic, Johnny, such as this one  here

It is pretty Leslie, but only in close up. Otherwise it is rather a sprawl!

It's actually a weed here! A few other boraginaceous things like "Patterson's Curse",Echium plantagineum are serious weeds in our area,
