Nothoscordum dialystemon (Ipheion dialystemon) with 8 tepals and very narrow grass like foliage blooming on a sunny windowsill today, about the same date as in 2015.

The tecophilaeas are early this year I think. They didn't seem to have so good a season last season so I think they are a little subdued this year - but they do have a habit of adding more and more blooms over the weeks so maybe things will improve.

Mine are just a thread leaf or two at this time in a cool location under lights

I hesitated to buy Tecophilaea year, or he will not stand in the cold in the greenhouse. Now I regret a little. It will be for next year ...

Yesterday I vented the greenhouse too late, the temp soared to 20C or more causing the Tecophileas to flop.  Ruined yet again, and so we drool over YT's impoeccable winter-flowers.... 

We simply can't trust a roof vent in this climate - wind, snow and Milanese sunshine.

YT  - The Tecophileas will be fine, thanks for the thought.  If I could grow one pot of bulbs as well as you grow all of yours I would be a happy man.

Tecophilaea cyanocrocus leichtlinii is in flower here too. A new one for me this year, I hope it will eventually make as good a potful as others shown here.

EDIT: Sorry, realised this is 'Stormcloud' - the fact it is purplish-blue is a bit of a giveaway

I am very fond of all the colours of Tecophilaea - but here we only have one in flower as yet- a seedling in the sand  bed under glass. The pots in the frit. house are  not even showing buds yet!

I have a type plant which flowered a little earlier. These supposed Tecophilaea cyanocrocus 'Leichtlinii' were bought from a reputable dealer, but I agree with you, it doesn't look right. With some white in the throat, maybe they are seedlings of 'Leichtlinii'?

Chris, if you look up I have a picture of the type plant (I think) obtained in the early 90s and then bulked up by division. The one you've just posted is very blue but they do tend to open bluer to start with.
