What Ipheion?

This Ipheion has been in my garden for a number of years and has been totally neglected as can probably be seen from the number and size of the flowers. Bearing in mind the not particularly good quality of the pictures could anyone suggest what it might be please?

Hi David,
From what I can see, I think it's the normal Ipheon uniflora.
Beware if you try to remove it - I had a somewhat similar clump entangled in the roots of a shrublet - I wanted to get rid of both and am now still struggling with the remaining bulbils that keep popping up everytime I think I got rid of the last one....

2. Thanks Luc, I will leave it where it is and give it some TLC. By the way having Googled it I see it can be uniflora and also uniflorum or is one singular and the other plural (as Peter Cook used to say 'I would've been a judge but didn't have the Latin')

Well, Google being what it is, if you were to google Ipheon, you'd get plenty results for that too... doesn't mean it's kosher!! It would have been uniflora when it was a Triteleia, or a Brodiaea, or any of the other things the taxonomists have called it over the years 
You were close enough that we know what you mean though, and that's always a good start!
Luc... I 've just looked again at your post... you better do some lines too!

I find the best TLC for Ipheion uniflorum ( is Roundup.

Though I also grow (deliberately) 'Froyle Mill,' 'Charlotte Bishop and 'Alberto Castillo' and I adore `Rolf Feidler' though I think that's a different species, isn't it.

I do hope Lily is better soon. Our lad has just come from the garden, one of the many wilder parts, covered in cleavers seeds so he's not wildly popular at present.

Luc - I made good experiences when I replanted my Ipheion last year. They even survived mold affection
in the place where I stored them wrongly. Their leaves are present since last autumn and even some
flowers found their way out in winter.

Ipheion .. would have been uniflora when it was a Triteleia, or a Brodiaea, or any of the other things the taxonomists have called it over the years 

The taxonomists have called it all sorts and now thrown out Iphieon as a genus completely.  Some of it is now Tristagma, so Ipheion uniflorum is now Tristagma uniflorum.  Ipheion dialystemon (we discussed on another thread) is now Nothoscordum dialystemon.  There has been quite a considerable revision of the family Alliaceae in general.  Interestingly, (all? some?) genera previously in Amaryllidaceae are now in Alliaceae. 
So Narcissus and Galanthus are now onions. 
And little blue jobs Scilla, Hyacinthus etc are in Asparagaceae.
