Cypripedium lichiangense. Whilst I find the flower attractive from a distance, close-up the flower surface resembles decaying mammal flesh. I was however surprised to find that some flies were laying their eggs on the flower (but not the leaves). These orchids are very prone to rot and so I was horrified to find a carrion fly orgy on my
lichiangense -the fly eggs can be clearly seen on this image:
