Clay Koplin
« on: March 06, 2016, 04:32:54 PM »
Hi folks, I am sure you know that Forum member Clay Koplin is a seed fanatic! In April Clay is coming over to be part of the Speyside Whiskey Festival in Dufftown. He must be a very strong minded person because, on Saturday, he is taking the day off to come to the Highland Show. Clay has been asking me about obtaining some fresh seed whilst he is here. The trays of spare 2015 seed will be available for him to browse through but we were wondering if anyone might have some nice, fresh 2016 seeds to share with him. If anyone has anything they would like to donate then it cold be sent to me as Show Secretary. My address is available in the show schedules on the web site and in the Secretaries Pages.

David, for God's sake you're a Yorkshireman, there must be some old red paint hanging round the garage somewhere?

Coincidentally,  posted elsewhere by Clay Koplin at about the time David S. was posting here .....

Clay Koplin‎ to  Cordova Community Gardeners

"There will be two significant gardening events in Cordova this summer, Ian Young from Aberdeen, Scotland (similar climate to Cordova) will be in Cordova the week of July 4th and will be presenting on rock gardening and digital photography of plants/flowers. I will post exact time of the lecture in the Northstar Theatre, Cordova Center.
The second is a visit by the Alaska Rock Garden Club the first week of August for hiking/collecting wildflower seed. These are some of the most accomplished gardeners in Alaska, including Verna Pratt (wildflowers of Alaska), etc. I will try to arrange a meet-and-greet with them.
For more information on Ian Young, please check out his bulb log, my bible for Cordova rock gardening: http://www.srgc.org.uk/logs/    "

Have all Yorkshiremen got spare tins of red paint in their sheds,  then?

Of course, they'll always come in.

Yorkshire men are not mean, just careful. Remember the joke about the Aberdeen landlady? It was started by a Glaswegian comedian.
