No news out of Perth so far ... but it was  minus 5.4 degrees C  for Sue and George's journey there this morning with this car-load of plants   -

With that, news from Andrew Radley of a fine success for him with Primula aureata ...  both the Murray-Lyon   and the Masterton Trophies!   Two for the price of one -  Well done Andrew!

Wow, exciting news from Perth!  Last week's first time  Forrest Medal Winners, Jane and Alan Thomson have won Best in Show again!  From the Perth SRGC show today - pic by Chris Hinds - This seems to be the same plant that won the Forrest Medal in Edinburgh last week - it cannot win two Forrests in one season so it has been given "best plant in the show " and a Certificate of merit it seems? Two weeks in a row to win Best In Show for Jane and Alan Thomson- such a shame not to have two Forrest records though.

The  Bulb trophy went to Cathy & Barry Caudwell for Erythronium  helenae unfortunately partly hidden by another plant. Henry & Margaret Taylor's Fritillaria moggridgei won  the Joyce Halley award for best plant grown for seed. They also received the Perth trophy for most  points by a member/s of the local group. Peter Maguire received  a merit certificate  for an  interesting orchid Pterostylis curta.

In a very good section 2 Francis & Margaret Higgins  again  came south to win the Perth salver for most points in section 2, the John Duff Memorial Prize for the best plant as well as a bronze medal and a certificate of merit for a very fine Primula Beatrice Wooster
