A Borders member signals  that  the show has been a success. The hall empties. Finally   Mrs Russell suggests to Mr Russell that he should buy a second trolley or carry his own rhododendron in future.

Does anyone recall if the yellow rhododendron in photo 8424 was R. boothii or 'Moth'?

Neither. It's R megeratum Bodnant form which  won the Cox Rhodo trophy -see first batch  of the show pics.

Rhododendron megeratum Bodnant form - grown  by Sue Simpson and also on the Edinburgh benches last week, I think.

 Little cracker, isn't it?

I think you've  managed to out-do yourself again with this report Stan - apart from a distinct lack of calorie consumption, I feel as though I was there.

Very nice six pan  you showed, by the way.  8)

Thanks so much Stan, I should have known that as I ordered one ($36 / rooted cutting) this year from the RSF but missed out on the Bodnant form and was offered a cw seedling but turned it down as likely not to be as intense, same price.  Cracker, I'll say, causes palpitations!

I fear not as I somehow  managed to take over 100 snaps  without one of the  show secretary  who organises  the whole event.

The wonderful Ms  Julia Corden is  such a force of nature that it is likely she appears in several of your shots but  is moving at such high speed as to be invisible! Wouldn't surprise me at all!

I'll attach a photo of Julia - which I just happen to have in my files - of the lady  refreshing herself recently  in Costa Rica....
