Forrest Medal plant at Aberdeen show today - Saxifraga pubescens 'Snowcap' from Cyril Lafong - well done Cyril!
Trillium luteum from Bob Maxwell
The white mountain of Saxifraga pubescens 'Snowcap' - which won the Forrest Medal for Cyril Lafong, the magnificent Trillium luteum from Bob Maxwell and one of Stan da Prato's lovely Rhododendrons....

The wonderful Snapper Stan is having some access probs so I'll post a few photos from him...... I'll return with some text where I can.
not one, but two fat white cushions - the larger is Cyril's and won the Forrest Medal for most meritotius plant in the show.
Cyril's winning entry in the 3pans, new rare or difficult class - to win the Esslemont Trophy.
Penstemon
uintahensis
absarokensis
from that 3 pan entry - also winning itself a Certificate of merit.
x Jancaemonda vandedemii - also from Cyril (
I think the spelling for this has returned to a K rather than the C it had for a while!
) Also won a certificate of merit!
Craig Cup for Best Primula won by Ian the Christie kind for a Primula maximowiczii

This beautiful Trillium (flexipes?) from Bill and Helen McGregor also won a certificate of merit.
Certificates of merit were abundant for these super plants - this Trillium luteum was grown by Bob Maxwell
This double Trillium grandiflorum won the Aberdeen Quaich for the best plant in Section II -
the exhibitor is again Bill McGregor
Winner of the Brian Bull Trophy for the Section II two pan class -
the exhibitor is Dave Aitken
Exhibits by junior members - and to the right the winner of the Elizabeth Bowl
-the winner is Penny Irvine

A rather lovely six pan entry for Class 1 - six fine Rhododendrons shown by the Snapper himself - Stan da Prato.
The Best rhododendron in the show - winning the Simspon Salver - for Stan da Prato!
I think this may be R. 'Dora Amateis' -
it is !

Having reconnected with the site we can now go on the customary apre-show photo tour omitting some plants already seen.

I have also tried to show some of the detailed info that accompanies entries esp. in the new or rare classes or from seed.
