bulbous Corydalis
« on: February 26, 2008, 09:39:44 AM »
I don't have the monography of Lidén, and this is a great problem for me to identity them as some of them sow themselves abundantly...
I would be happy if someone could confirm C. haussknechtii...
I try to compare it to C. paschei, much more gracile and allogame, althought C. haussknectii is autogame in my garden.
Is my caucasica true too ? Very few flowers...

Hello 'Bio' sorry for not replying sooner but life is very busy just now and on bright days I like to be in the garden with the bulbs.
I do love the Corydalis and grow a good number of them both in the open garden and in the bulb houses.
From the details I can see in the picture your C. haussknechtii looks right to me.
I should warn you that they can be very promiscuous and if you are growing several species close together hybrids are likely to occur in the resulting seedlings.
Also I can see nothing to suggest any other species than C. caucasica for your other picture.

Thank you Ian.
I try to always separate species of the same genus, but it's not always easy.
And actually, I think that my C. tauricola is wrong. I'll post photos  ;).

Here is the plant I have under the name C. tauricola : it is few specific, and the seeds of it I made turned to be hybridised with C. haussknechtii...

After you'll find C. solida ssp. incisa from Greece : is it the good ssp. ? the foliage seems well divided...

This is a Corydalis from Croatia, very similar to that what I know as C. cava.

Could this be Corydalis bulbosa (cava) ssp.marschalliana?
I would be glad if I'll receive a determination

The second one is Corydalis wendelboi from Lake Abant/Turkey

Gerd, I fear that Corydalis are as tricky to pin a name on as all the other plants we are discussing!! ???
