I am normally not too happy with the mauve types but this caucasica pic #5 is quite good.
Göte
Göte,
this one definitely is not C. caucasica, probably solida.

I believe you Yuri. Thank you,
I received it from a source that sometimes has supplied misnamed plants and I have not checked it against the books. The same source supplied a bluish " bracteata" so I should perhaps have been suspicious but the time when they flower is a very busy one. This coming spring I will check myself. In the meantime, Do you know any reliable photo of caucasica on the web?

Maggi, that C. Beth Evans is superb.  I bought one at Dunblane two years ago.  It flowered for me last year then keeled over and turned up its toes.  When I dug down, the corm was mush  ???  I don't think they particularly like my slightly acid dry sandy soil.  So I try to grow them in pots instead.  I'll have to get Beth Evans again I think.  And I also need George Baker - looks like a shopping list eh?

Chris, our soil is, by and large, slightly acid dry and sandy.  ???

I'll need to see what I can do for you later in the year  ;)
So sorry that I can't help you , Lesley........just think of those things you have that we have not..... :'(

Hmmm well, I'll have to try in a new location I guess. I have no idea why it would bloom nicely then keel over.  You'd think if the corm was mush, it would not flower, so it must have happened after the flowering ended somehow, but how anything gets soggy in my garden I have no idea.  One's that I sited in other places are still alive and coming through, but none of them look as good as yours  ::).

There's always seed of course (she said with a little,"please love me" kind of smile).

You know you are always welcome Maggi to anything we can send to you.

I'll make an effort... we don't usually collect seed from them... they ripen and shed it so fast!

Here are a few shots of some different types around the garden...

113157-3

Drifts of corydalis like that are a sight for sore eyes. Not too many in Tasmanian gardens. Very nice.

Super duper corydalis Maggi, a fab mix of colours to make the heart soar and the interior designer throw away the colour wheel!
I re-post here photos of Corydalis solida in the wild in Southern Bulgaria, from the several sites they were seen they were always a light blushing pink. Growing in diverse habitats from sand dunes to woodland, always on free draining soils.
Hristo passed away, after a long illness, on 11th November 2018. His support of SRGC was  much appreciated.
