Chelsea Flower Show 2016
« on: May 23, 2016, 02:57:55 PM »
Chelsea Flower Show 2016    It's judging day at Chelsea today  .... the AGS has had their display judges and awaits results - it's looking good, I think.
(Pix taken from their Tweet - here )

The display makes extensive use of troughs, which SRGC have always found to be successful with judges and public alike.

Note added 24th May -  AGS wins GOLD! Well done!

In the last photo  of the AGS stand in my post above .... that's this one...

if you look closely, I think this, on the stump .....

is Linnaeus borealis - which would be pretty appropriate today, because as this photo from the Chicago Botanic Garden reminds us,  today is the anniversary of the birth, in 1707,  of Carolus Linnaeus (born 1707), father of binomial nomenclature.
Happy birthday !

For those wondering how the Judges approach their task - this link should lead to an RHS  article on consistency for judges and juries...    https://t.co/LadHA0aqn4
