There can be an average of a 6°c temperature difference between Ayr and Loch Doon.  However, when the sun shines it works the other way.   The Loch is approx.700 feet above sea level and 19 miles from the coast, which can account for the difference.  In Winter the difference can be much greater.

It chucked it down earlier today, but it's nice and sunny now. Wish it would clear up in Belfast, it's interfering with the cricket   :(

High 20s and very humid. Worse tomorrow apparently, up in the 30s. Hate it!

Exactly the same temp here yesterday David, at midnight it was still 22c but then it dropped to 19c and is stuck there on this grey day.
