I don't have an answer but it might help if you told us when the picture was taken. A close up would be ideal of course but I"m guessing you don't have that. Also their must be some sort of groundskeeping crew at Holyrood. You might have better luck if you tracked them down and sent them the picture. Good luck. I cannot see it very well but I would think looking at the trees around it, it is probably a wild cherry, called a geen in Scotland. Nice thought, very romantic.
