Luc Gilgemyn notes that the third seminar of the VRV of this calendar year, will take place on 26/11/2016, at the familiar address: the botanical garden of the university of Ghent , Charles Louis Ledeganckstraat 35, auditorium 4. start time: 10.00 - end around 15:00
Again they were able to snare a foreign guest to make the trip to Ghent to regale the audience with two presentations. Kurt Vickery will visit from England, where he has gained a certain notoriety as a"plant hunter". In particular, he has focused for several years on the search for special wild bulbs and rock plants throughout Europe, Asia and North Africa. His lecture titles will be: "Tulips of Kazakhstan", of course, mostly about his finds many species of wild tulips during his numerous expeditions to this huge country. "Tulip Hunter's favorite weeds" sounds then somewhat mysterious! Here he introduces us to all the other striking plants and bulbs (not tulip), which he has seen during his travels through Jordan, Greece, Turkey, Azerbaijan, etc ...and found on his way. A colorful mix of rarities are guaranteed. After the lectures the day conclude as usual with the now famous and infamous VRV raffle! It is hoped to hope to again welcome a large audience!
