Anti-cat Plan D. Maybe the big stones will deter them, and hopefully the bulbs won't mind.

Hope this solution works, Anne! Those cats are a pest. Most bulbs thrive when growing under rocks.

In my garden it is not the cats that damage plants, it is what they leave.

In leaving said gifts, they can damage the bulbs as well.
No incursions overnight.

Ian has made a similar  attempt to keep the mice out of one of our sand  beds.  Idea is that it will be too uncomfortable for them to dig up the bulbs. Oddly enough, the visiting cats  have not bothered much with this  bed - though it may be tht it  was such a good  hunting spot they avoided using it s a latrine for that reason. Either that or the cats are much more bothered  by the proximity of the Small White terriers than the mice are!

Just be glad you don't have echidnas, Anne!
The stones would have to be a lot heavier ;D

Here we have super-sized echidnas - porcupine! And they love bulbs of all descriptions ::)

This is Narcissus antiatlanticus, it blooms when N. broussonetii is fructifying.

Wow, Rafa :o
I don't think that I've seen that one before!
Quite amazing - it's like someone has taken a pair of fine scissors and cut out the corona from a bunch of Paperwhites!
What is the scent like?
cheers

Narcissus romieuxii ssp albidus var zaianicus is the first to bloom here, an outstanding value during winter.

One way to deter cats is to adopt a leopard.
