I am confused!  The Myddelton site says entries close on December 24th (so why wasn't it taken down) and the newspaper says

The lucky winner, and his or her chosen name, will then be announced at Myddelton House Gardens’ Annual Ultimate Snowdrop Sale on Saturday, January 28, where the new snowdrop will make its debut, with a limited number available for sale for £80 each.

so I think you may have missed the boat.

Good point, Brian!  Not paying close attention, I had misread the date on the Myddleton site as 24th January.  I think 'December' must be a misprint and it should read 24th January.  The newspaper article states:

• The Snowdrop Naming Competition is open to all and the closing date is Tuesday, January 24.

All entries will need to be received by 3pm on that date.

The initial page does give the 24th January - then the page to submit the name gives the December date - proof -readers of the world rejoice - you are still sorely needed!

Nice picture of it in the DailyTelegraph  today they reckon a £1000 a bulb!  Don't think my pocket money will stretch that far.
