The four petalled flower of GREEN TEAR is here now ...it likes to change the gardens  ;)
Can I have it back next year please, Hagen?

Hi Brian,
A nice collection... thanks for showing....
You might want to change the name of 'Godfrey Armstrong'!

It is really nice to see a group of 'Green Tear', last year there was a four petalled flower but this year they are all three so far out of eight flowering and four to come, perhaps it will be one of them.  'Hughes Emerald' has the most delightful marking and looks as though it is a good increaser.  'Lacewing' is a strange flower but holds  sentimental value from when we found it.  'One Drop or Two' was bought sight unseen and I am really pleased with it, as you can see the flowers appear either fused or doubled.
Your Green Tear grouping is a real picture, Brian.

Well that was quite a show Gert, Brian and Hagen, the weekend will now be spent in deep contemplation. If I smoked there'd be great clouds about.

How has 'Don Armstrong' stood up in comparison with other elwesii Pocs?  I asked as Pam & I were a bit nervous about how it would measure up, there wasn't much competition back then but JohnG thought it was a very good one and worthy of that name.  Thanks to Pam for safe-guarding it for so many years.

My Fee Clochette is a bit behind Gert's.  I think 'Don Armstrong' stands up well to other elwesii pocs, Pam did a great job looking after it and now it is beginning to be spread around over here too.  I am just so annoyed that it was attacked this year as it looked like being a good group, blooming birds and animals!  It certainly stands well in a clump and I think JG was right to give it a name.

Wonderful snowdrops again, thank you for bring hope here where it is still cold and snow. :)
It is good to know that 'Trumps' is a good doer.
'Swan Lake' and Dryad Gold snowdrops, lovely! Also 'Fee Clochette' goes to my wish list and Brian's clump of 'Green Tear' looks fabulous. How tall is it? It doesn't look very small. I have thought that many green snowdrops are small like 'Virescens'. I hope it does appear soon in some dormant lists so that I can buy it. :)
'Alan's Treat' also looks good as a clump, mine flowered for the first time last spring, only one bulb, but I hope it will increase.

The 'Green Tear' clump is 24 cm tall and the 'Alan's Treat' was one bulb in 2010 so 7 years to wait Leena ;)

Thank you Brian, 24cm is very good! :) By the time I have saved enough money, I hope it will be more available.

'Alan's Treat' was one bulb in 2010 so 7 years to wait Leena ;)

Actually only 5 years to wait, because I planted mine 2015. :) Years go fast with plants!

My new back garden gets virtually no sun during the winter months so my snowdrops are slow to get going (Three Ships, a gift from very generous friends, did not 'come sailing in' until nearly the end of January) but we've had a couple of warmer days and now things are moving. 'Godfrey Owen' is doing well and elwesii 'Marielle' has been increasing pleasingly in a pot. This is a Suffolk snowdrop found in an old garden near Ipswich by Bernard Tickner and Ivan Dickings, bought at an AGS show in Harlow a couple of years ago. I was having a panic thinking that I had left behind my treasured G. koenenianus when I moved but have found it - very slow to clump sadly but I should get a flower this year.
