My very first bulb of Narcissus asturiensis is flourishing. This will be the first time I have a flower and it will be the only one of the year.  :D
Do you think self-pollination has a chance to succeed ?

I can't tell you how excited I am to be able to grow this bulb of Narcissus albimarginatus . I was sent it to act as a back-up for a few bulbs held in a botanic garden. It was so frustrating to be away at a snowdrop event while it was opening its flowers back home!
It is an endangered Moroccan endemic, and it is difficult to believe looking at the flower that it is a wild species, with the beautiful white rim to the corona. The rest of the flower is a very deep warm yellow, and it has the most delicious sweet scent. I expect you can tell I am smitten!
I will be self pollinating the flowers to try and obtain seeds, which hopefully will help to perpetuate it. I am sorry, but please don't ask for bulbs or seeds (at least for a few years) - the bulbs are not mine, I am just baby-sitting!
I will be sending pollen to some trusted breeders, so that at least its genes can be spread around.

Certainly a stunner and very desirable!

Here's Narcissus hedraeanthus, tiny tiny tiny!

Spectacular isn't it?  Very rare and so pretty.  We have had pix before ( of course we have!!) from Rafa, who also shared his pix to the PBS wiki.

Anne, it is true that the flower seems so perfect, I understand your emotion.

Ralf, he looks a little crumpled the hedraeanthus. Is this normal?

Don't know, Fred. Will have to see when the other buds open.

I received seed of this species back in the autumn. The seedlings are still alive and I just hope I can keep them that way! Any specific tips for successful cultivation of this species, Anne, or should I just treat it like the others?

Matt, I've just treated it like the others. Good luck with your babies! You will have a slightly broader gene pool if they get to flowering size.

Narcissus 'Mite' has surfaced after 2 years asleep.

Photo 2009, can't recall the exact parentage.

"If" being the imperative word! IF I do get any to flowering size we will have to arrange a gene swap!  ;)

Two from the mildest despot in the world:

Narcissus romieuxii 'Craigton Clanger' always the first to flower (2 to 3 weeks before his sister) and a lot quicker to clump up.
Narcissus romieuxii 'Craigton Clumper'

Not flowering at full power this year, bc I divided them last summer.
