Maybe you know it with its old name : Tulipa raddii was known as Tulipa praecox.
It's spreading with drageons (so, it gives lots of bulbs) and usualy it is not very floriferous.

Now that you mention it, I looked it up and mine does look more like Tulipa linifolia. Does anyone have the orignal description from the Flora Iranica?
