Yann,
I don't show pics of the slug-ravaged foliage! ;D

Here is Tulipa clusiana 'Lady Jane' which I got from David Glenn at Lambley Nursery - presumably  he was able to import the authentic plant,
cheers

Beautiful clusiana Fermi; surely one of the most elegant tulips.
Often I've admired how your more 'mediterranean' conditions suit bulb-growing, so didn't expect that you'd have to struggle with slugs.  Here, especially at night, they remind me of vast wildebeest herds from wildlife documentaries about the Serengeti  ::) ;D

How does one tell the difference between Tulipa dasystemon and Tulipa tarda? Some commercial bulbs available in Canada are listed as 'Tulipa dasystemon tarda' just to add to the confusion. Is there a difference?
Southwestern Nova Scotia,

Hello Gordon

There is not much  chance that you can buy real T. dasystemon, only a few specialist Eastern European nurseries sells real T. dasystemon.
The tulip in common sold as T. dasystemon is a form of T. neustrueva, this is an early flowering tulip, mostly single flowered and with plain yellow flowers on a stem without hairs. T. tarda is multi flowered up to fife flowers on a stem, yellow with white tips on the tepals, and hairy stems. T. dasystemon tarda is a fake name, it are two different species.

Thank you Sjaak, I assume then that I have Tulipa tarda, since my plants have multiple flowers,  the floral segments are yellow with white tips.

Hi Ashley,
I was also surprised by the presence of slugs but we do use a lot of organic mulches which provide adequate hiding places for them. Strangely we don't have a lot of snails!

Another type of the Lady Tulip is Tulipa clusiana var chrysantha 'Tubergen's gem'
cheers
