A great honour for
Rod Leeds, well known grower, bulb lover and author, former President of the AGS - he has been awarded the Veitch Memorial Medal at the RHS Annual Awards Ceremony by the RHS President, Sir Nicholas Bacon.
The top award, the Victoria Medal of Honour, was given to RHS Ambassador and Vice President Jekka McVicar and Nick Dunn.
The Veitch Memorial Medal was awarded to Dominic Cole, Rod Leeds, Philippe Lecoufle, William McNamara and Andrew McIndoe – all recognised for their outstanding contributions to the science, art and practice of horticulture.

Kevock Gardens Plants, under the direction of David Rankin, SRGC president and his wife Stella, have been awarded the Farrer Trophy which was instituted in 1959 in commemoration of Reginald Farrer, plant collector and authority on alpine plants, this trophy is awarded for the best exhibit of plants suitable for the rock garden or alpine house staged during the year at one of the Society’s Shows.
In 2017 the Farrer Trophy was awarded to Kevock Garden Plants for their exhibit of alpine, bog and woodland plants at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2016.
