Montreal Botanical Garden
« on: February 25, 2017, 11:40:42 PM »
In relation with the thread from Alpines, as promised a few images from MBG and more precisely from the Alpinum. MBG is a very large garden and besides the outdoor gardens includes 10 exhibitions greenhouses, so a proper visit would be at least a week (depending on how many pictures are to be taken ;D
Most of my pictures are from late summer, but I also procured few from late spring.

Thanks for pointing, Gabriela. A very nice garden. It is interesting to see that Maihuenia poeppigii is growing so far in the north very well. I also have both types in my Alpinum but under a cover of glass. M. poeppigii and M. patagonica grow very well but unfortunately have never blossomed. :-\

I look forward to more photos.

You're all welcome. It was a short, 21/2 half day visit and I wanted to cover many areas so actually I don't have that many pictures from the Alpinum; the South Africa and S. America areas are particularly small.
The edible/economical gardens were a huge distraction ??? with lots of species I've never knew even existed, plus the Conservatory ::)

Bulbine frutescens
