Is this Erythronium umbilicatum or Dimpled Trout Lily?

E. dens-canis;



I adore the flowers, but they do not last longer than something like 5 days max. It is also extremely slow to increase. I think this little clump is about 7 years old. I would like to grow some more dens-canis, does anyone perhaps have a bit of seed to spare this season?

Erythronium citrinum do not grow in your area?

No, E. citrinum grows on the  Western side of the United States - in Oregon and California.  Georgia is in the East.

I was very pleased to see this flowering for the first time, especially as the foliage is such a wonderful contrast, the label said:

A very large flowered revolutum hybrid with soft pink flowers and a faint red ring.  From Jean Lorraine's famous garden at Green combe

I think this comes from down your way David doesn't it?  The colouring is exquisite and not well picked up by the amateur photographer - I was having a bad day.  Shame about all the detritus in the background!

Thank you Herman, it seems that I found him. There is no label. The label E citrinum was placed on E caucasicum. It is the boredom with the magpies (Pica pica). They take and carry a lot of things in the garden.
