I see this and another post are still referring to the AGS Harlow Show; is there something about Theydon Bois I don't know about. Apart from how to pronounce It ;-)

I  imagine  that  this  is  a case  of  those  long  accustomed to the  Early  Spring  Show  being the  Harlow  Show, that they are  still referring to  it  as  such** - the  Show  will be  held  in the Theydon Bois Village  Hall,  Coppice  Road, Theydon Bois, Essex  CM16 7ER

There  are  details on how to  get  there  on the  AGS  site, here: https://www.alpinegardensociety.net/shows-events/early-spring-2020/

** we  have  such cases  in SRGC - the "Stirling" show  hasn't  been  held  in Stirling  itself  for  years, and   the  "Glasgow" show  hasn't  either!

You could be right Maggie, although I think when I first exhibited in that show it was in Brompton Oratory church hall (not sure about date) next to the Victoria and Albert Museum in Kensington. Very handy as exhibitors could park in the churchyard, and go to the museums while judging was on. Names often stick when the trophies have it engraved on them.
For visitors Bois is pronounced the same as boys or buoys. There is also a Chesham Bois near me, a wooded area with a road called Great Bois Wood ;-)

Aberconwy- who do not  usually  provide  mail order, are  in a  particularly vulnerable  position because  of the  cancellations  of  SRGC and  AGS shows  - so please  try  to support them wherever possible, as we  hope  you  will do for  all our  nursery friends - the  specialists  are  ital to our  enjoyment  of  our plant growing passion.

They've  posted  this note about  arrangments  for  orders  already  placed to have  been  collected  at the  now  cancelled shows ....

"Hi Everybody,
As expected we have just heard that all the AGS and SRGC shows we were booked to attend this spring and summer have been cancelled. While this is sad it is an entierly understandable decision in the situation we find ourselves in. If anyone has placed an order with us for these shows, please get in touch by phone or email to discuss it. We are still open and will have plenty of nice plants available at our open airy site in North Wales.
On a different note the plants are getting on with things as normal with many starting to look stunning. Hopefully you will find something in the selection below that will cheer you up 🙂"

So happy that we managed the Early Spring show in Theydon Bois so we could pick up some 150 plants for ourselves and for our friends !
Still plenty of them to plant out as the weather seems to be improving.  :D   ... and no where else to go...or alowed to go anyway !

Aberconwy Nursery

*New Autumn List is now out*
"The autumn supplement is now out and contains many interesting and unusual alpine and rock garden plants which are available from the nursery this autumn.
We have extended our opening hours up to the end of October this year so potential visitors have the chance to drop by before winter arrives.
If you have a list of specific things that you would like to pick up when you visit, a few days notice is always appreciated to give us the chance to put the plants together before your arrival. (Many items from this years spring list are also available, often in slightly larger sizes than usual, so please ask if you find items of interest.)
With the events we would normally attend in the autumn cancelled, ordering plants for delivery to them is unfortunately not possible, however hopefully this may return as an option by next spring.
We have a lot of beautiful plants at the moment and look forward to welcoming you to the nursery soon!"

I went there last weekend - some fabulous gentians at the moment! Well worth a visit, one of the best alpine nurseries around in my view.
