I was out spreading mulch in the garden and finally looked up to discover not only had the first blue meconopsis opened, but a white one showed up too. Surprise! I have no idea from which seed packet the white one came.

Meconopsis horridula flowered for the third year in a row. I suspect it is a series of offsets that keep this particular plant going.
A nice, pale "fertile blue" meconopsis added some variety to the darker blue mecs.

Meconopsis baileyi alba double.
I have had Meconopsis for many years, but have never had a Meconopsis that becomes double, is it common?

Seems to happen from time to time - but not always as pretty as yours, Thorkild.
This blue one was just pictured by Chris B in a garden she visited -

The people who have the garden I visited seemed to think it was a perennial. There were certainly two double flowers on it. They have saved seed apparently. Don't think they had a name for it though...

It's is a wonderful & long Meconopsis season this year with temperatures and rainfall just about perfect. At a friend's garden today I spied a row a small-flowered dark blue (forget the picture) which was really quite lovely. I asked the name and he said 'Mrs. ___', I said 'Mrs. Jebb', no 'Mrs. something else'. I still say 'Mrs. Jebb'. Am I right?
The Mecs in question are in the back row, save for a pair of stray large-flowered ones.
