Can anyone ID which creature this pellet might have come from, please?
I am assuming ‘pellet’ and not ‘poo’ as there was no smell and little sign of the matter having been digested. From my own observation it seems to consist of seeds and vegetation, - there were no bones, fur or feathers. The yellow seed may be maize or lentil (?) and I thought I could identify barley, suggesting whatever consumed them fed at a bird feeding station. Again, I am just speculating.
The wildlife in my sub-urban, postage-stamp garden is limited, - I see the very occasional wren and blue tit apart from the more commonplace sparrows, starlings, blackbirds, pigeons and gulls. I had a rare visit from a hedgehog a couple of years ago. I’m not suggesting that any of the above were responsible, but just giving more background info.
