I must admit that drawings like these are more useful to learn about the characteristics of each Cultivar then most photographs can achieve.

We're finding the new  Freda Cox book to be useful - as it says on the  cover, it sets out to be a  "gardener's guide" and as such it is  easy to read and user-friendly. It will be a favourite  for  many, we reckon.

Has anyone seen the prices being asked for Freda Cox's first edition of 'A Gardener's Guide to Snowdrops'?   AU$240 (‎£133) and new for AU$640! (‎£355!). I can't imagine people paying those prices now with the new edition now available for $50 delivered! I should have sold my first edition to fund the purchase of the new one! Hindsight, hey?

This is usually an old trick of the book sellers who have run out of copies. They price high so they know people won't ask and it keeps them from taking down the entry.

The second Edition is excellent and selling fast, so you need to be quick!

It is particularly popular in Europe I hear!

After the first book I wonder if we have started to take the drawings for granted?  In my opinion Freda Cox has a wonderful ability to capture the essential features of a snowdrop flower in her illustrations; it's such a pity that these cannot be reproduced full-size in the book.

I’m not sure who supplied the info for the Australian entries but that’s where I found 3 mistakes They probably won’t make any difference to anyone not living here however!

Hi Matt,
To non-Australians the mistakes I found will be incredibly trifling  and concern the sellers rather than the drops themselves.
Firstly, Eric Genat is listed as a supplier but he has been dead quite a long time. His son, Peter, does occasionally sell them but concentrates on nerines.
Secondly, Shirley and Jane Tonkin are named as Bryan Tonkin’s daughters but Shirley is actually his widow.
Their Sylvanvale Nursery is given an address in Canada rather than Australia! Her proof reader has let her down!
These errors will not affect any readers not in Australia
