Lychnis?
« on: June 19, 2017, 10:54:18 AM »
Anyone with Gerd Stopp's list from two or three years ago might be able to give me a name for this . One of our group members bought a random selection from Gerd to sell on at our meetings. The label has faded but I recall looking it up and I think it is a Chinese species? Can anyone give me the name please? It is doing well between two tufa blocks on our new raised bed.

It is a Silene, perhaps Silene delavayi.

Darren,
if you can take a picture from the side would be useful. It looks a bit like S. nigrescens, which is Chinese, but also like S. uralensis ssp. apetala - from Northern Europe.

- I meant I picture to better show the calyx shape.
