anemone apennina
« on: March 27, 2008, 04:29:08 PM »
Last weekend I told you about the old garden, where Galanthus 'Mark's Tall' grows, that has many unusual naturalised anemone apennina in it. I went there again today because it was another very warm day. Yesterday was 16C! I walked and was so hot I had to take my jumper off.

Here are the anemone apennina. I need opinions please.

Some real beauties there, Mark. I think a bit of selective 'collecting' of the best forms is called for.  ;)

Mark
These should be conserved.  I particularly like nos 8 and 14.

I have a spare patch of woodland if you need room for the conservation project.

You want opinions Mark? Mine is that you should be collecting as many as possible and distributing when they've bulked up. If the garden's owner will let you do this, you're a fortunate man. They are just lovely, even the doubles. Go for it.

:o Three years since I showed these and today is the first time I went to get some. They wilted badly in the heat and wind but hopefully they will be OK.
