Whilst I was on holiday in Northumberland earlier this year I went to a Plant Heritage meeting in the Memorial Hall in Ponteland.  It's obviously the venue for plant-related meetings. 
Almost in Scotland.

It certainly is a very good venue - nice space - car park quite large - easy to find -  not much more one can ask for, really.  Some areas of plant sales are upstairs still, I think  but you cannot have everything!

Maggi I think the only thing upstairs now is the café and there is a stair lift available.
