Oh, Peter, lovely composite of the RBGE display! I'd like to point out the two differnet forms of Fritillaria hermonis amana, pictured left and right in the shot... the one to the right has already been featured in a pic ( from Peter/David?)... they are both very pretty , dainty forms, highly desireable, though I think the one on the right just gets my vote!

How can anyone say Crocus goteborgensis isnt a stunning plant.

Don't know about the Rannunculus, Mark,

BUT the Crocus x goteborgensis is .... the most horrible, yukky, colour combination  I've ever come across. The crocus featured below, C pelistericus is such a wonderful plant, by contrast.

There, I've said it!!!

(Having got that off my chest, Alan's pan of the said crocus is extremely well grown and did deserve the first it got.)

How difficult is Ranunculus crithmifolius

Well, it died after a couple of years in one of our raised beds..........

I always thought that the hybrid crocus x gotenbergensis was ghastly... but you, know, I have to admit it looks good in these photos and I think it is growing on me. I have tried taking chocolate, but I still think I am getting to appreciate the flippin' thing.... extraordinary

Particularly liked the watercolours with the artist.  Haven't got an artisitic bone in my body and I envy those that have.

Did anyone take pics of the two interesting forms of Primula henricii, shown by the Glenrothes Greenfingers? This looks similar to Primula bracteata (see pic previously shown), but has 'white' flowers. Of interest is the difference between the flowers. To me the flowers weren't a 'pure' white, with one plant showing very pale yellow when first opened, fading to a very pale lilac; the central 'eye' was yellow on all flowers. In the second plant the colour seemed more uniform, but the central eye was yellow or orange (presumably like Androsaces after pollination). Perhaps Cyril, or anyone else who grows this plant can tell us more......

Eileen had quite a number of her lovely works on display, and for sale. It is just hard to get pix in the very sunny foyer with works under glass which are not hung flat on a wall.  Perhaps we could persuade the Church to install hanging rails?   It would make photos easier and show off the works much better, too.
