Soldanella from Bucegi Massif

I  start this topic here in the hope Josef will see it.
Very short - this summer In S. Carpathians while scrambling on a steep slope in the lookout for S. pusilla (actually I was a bit lost at some point) I stumbled upon a Soldanella a bit particular.
Unfortunately in such situations I keep the camera safe in the backpack, so no pictures of the plant which was in the company of Rhododendron myrtifolium on a grassy ledge, +/- 1100 m - corrected 2100 m. I didn't collect leaves either but took some whole capsules with the pedicels. The reason I notice it were the deep purple capsules.

I won't mention here various articles about this complicated genera that Josef knows about, and anyway I don't have enough material to try to match it.  I am curious if someone else knows about similar collections made in the S. Carpathians, or surrounding mountain ranges.

You wrote to my personal account which I should read regularly, it may be deleted after three months otherwise.
Surprising how time is running, I have read it today and the account still exists.
I found a plant with similarly violet capsules in Nízke Tatry mountains many years ago too.
In Bucegi mountains, Soldanella hungarica sensu stricto is expected.
Capsules are not sufficient for exact determination.

Hello Josef - yes, time goes by fast.

Thank you for your opinion. Reading back my post in the excitation of the moment I gave a wrong alt. - it was 2100 m not 1100.
I know capsules are not enough for ID, I just wanted to show the very particular blunt calyx lobes. Since then, SEM pictures were taken of the glandular hairs on petioles to compare with the others two I know and collect seeds in Bucegi: S. hungarica s. str. and another that I give as S. major s.l.

It is different from both of them. It may be a hybrid or something else from S. major group, looks close with what Zhang described as S. oreodoxa.
It will have to wait until I go back to wander on the mountain there.

This seems to be the same taxon. Certainly not being  Soldanella major as encountered in Austria.

Yes Josef, most times I don't wander by myself in the mountains.
In any case, this is a project that will have to wait for more plant material; anything else would be just speculation.

Thanks for the links Josef.
I was aware of your work on Soldanella genus; reason why I contacted you.
As I said, if it happens to collect more material I may pursue further with it just because I would like to know what name to assign to it.

But this is a 'hobby project'; time and resources are allocated for other things. I leave it to the Europeans to do the serious work on Soldanella
