South American bulbs 2018

Eucharis aff. caucana plicata
Columbia, Quindio 1100m

identified a E plicata
Cup is about 13-14mm long and 13mm wide
Style is very short and well inside anthers.

Perhaps not, Rimmer.   E. caucana does not have that extended pedicel  behind the ovary, I don't think.   Have a look at  E.  formosa on the PBS pages - yours looks more like that ?

Style is too short for E. formosa 
And it does not match these pictures for E. caucana with the wide part behind flower and long style.

So perhaps the aff. caucana designation or E. plicata.

Might it be a hybrid? It is lovely. but I believe they don't smell as good as they look??

6 tepal yellow nothoscordum, flower about 1” diameter
Came from Japan as Nothoscordum seto
Probably Nothoscordum felipponei, syn. Ipheion sellowianum, syn. Tristagma sellowianum

1, 2) Rhodophiala bifida Pink form (seed sent from Argentina by forumist Santiago)
3, 4) Red form grown from seed by crossing the orange-red and blood-red forms back in 2013!

Rimmer, very nice Tecophilaea but I think that is perhaps a hybrid - I don't think the true violacea has such a large white eye. Equally Tecophilaea cyanocrocus var. leichtlinii is sky blue - yours looks more violet so that may be a hybrid also. Hopefully I'll post some pictures in a few weeks.
