Car now loaded for early start - longest drive since op so will  factor in a few stops.

Thanks Stan for making the effort. You should have said you were coming and you could have stayed here the night before. It’s not that long since your operation . Derek woulld have cooked you something to eat, you don’t want to taste my cooking.

Great show and it’s so nice to see such a wonderful display . Thanks everyone especially those of you that travelled quite a bit. Hope you get home safely and not too exhausted.
I have to own up to something. Really embarrassed but I took someone’s plant by mistake. I thought it was mine but when I got home I soon realised it wasn’t . It’s Androsace Himalaica, hopefully someone will realise it’s missing from there collection and I can return it before I kill it. Sorry, quite embarrassed.

Award winners starting with David and his Ramonda. note these photos  were taken well into the afternoon when some plants were starting  to flag  in the very strong  sun. David also received a certificate of merit for Saxifraga pubescens Snwocap from the same three pan entry in class 2. Ian Christie took the Craig Cup for best primula with P rusbyi. Cyril received  certs of merit for two plants  thst have won Forrest medals in their time- Trillium grandiflorum  flore pleno and Daphne calcicola.

In section 2 Angela won both the Brian Bull trophy and the Aberdeen Quaich with Cypripedium tibeticum. Also in section 2 Bill & Helen McGregor received a cert of merit for anther  double white trillium. Roma Fiddes received a cert of merit for Gentiana acaulis. I took the Walker of Portlethen trophy for most points  due to bringing  most plants. I also  received the Simpson Salver for best rhodo with a very small R groenlandicum compactum.

A look round the benches. Class A for 6 small pans then classes 1 for 6 bigger pans, 2 for 3 pans, Scottish natives and plants raised from seed by the exhibitors.
