Pulsatilla rubra

Flowering for the first time in late May. Seed was wild collected by Suzanne Nielssen and handed out as freebees when she talked at Dunblane in 2015. There was no indication of where the seed was collected. I love the colour and was amazed to see how dark it is. I also have P. halleri from the same source which has not yet flowered.

And I bet you were expecting a red flower? It could hardly be blacker, a wonderful colour.
