Thank You, Yann for your comment and excuse please my mistake, this was Trollius and not Caltha.
This deep-orange trollius catched all our views, as we entered this fine garden! They where huge and I send You a foto with the surrounding of this plant!
Have a good evening, Harald
Your fotoserie about the alpine flora are very fine!

Thank you for this lively report!

- so - there are trees and  a wide range of flowering perennials in Iceland!
I must confess that I believed that  more or less grasses and occasionally lower shrubs to be found at
the island. It is never too late to learn!

It's a long way to Akureyri!
Hallo Johnralph, we had a 9000 miles on our "Big Northland Cruise" from Bremen, Iceland, Svalbard, Norway from Nordkap back to Germany and we had wonderful impressions of this countries and people, touristic highlights and especially the flora!
By the way, the distance from Chilmington Green to Akureyri via Belgium, Holland, Germany, Danmark -Hirthals Ferry to Iceland - exactly  2001 miles, but You need 88 hours for this tour :-)...... but You will love the flowers of the Botanical Garden there too!!!
Greetings from Germany
Harald
