Dainty pale blue flowers
« on: September 17, 2018, 05:14:07 PM »

Please can someone id this dainty pale blue flower.
Seen in a garden in Glen Prossen...on 9th August.
2 pics have been pruned to see detail more clearly.
Thank you.

That looks spot on...Horminum pyrenaicum.......comprising a single species. Common names include Dragonmouth and Pyrenean Dead-nettle.
This species is native to the Pyrenees and Alps in western Europe.
Many thanks Maggie.

Elizabeth Mcgregor is selling a beautiful form....

Horminum pyrenaicum album.

We obtained ours from Tallinn Botanic Garden and I have sent seed to the Seed Exchange for several years.

Thank you Shelagh for confirming it is Horminum pyrenaicum
I actually feel that with the white tube and violet /blue mouth Horminum pyrenaicum f. alboviolaceum is actually spot on with what I saw.
See links in my post above.
