What to expect from seeds of a white form of Glaucidium palmatum
« on: September 21, 2018, 07:31:42 AM »
I have no experience with the species in general and did not found much information about it.
It would be great to get some advice.
Are the seedlings come out as white or mixed?
If without isolation, can a white Glaucidium get pollen from a purple form and seedlings would be both colour form?
And finally how is Glaucidium get pollinated (insects I guess?)

Several growers  have stated  in that thread  that seed from white forms of Glaucidium palmatum does not always throw white  flowered seedlings - and this has been our  experience here too.

I imagine that pollination is  by insects - the flowers are visited by pollinators, for sure.

Thank you, that is exactly what I thought. And just by accident I got Glaucidium seeds on raffle at Rock Garden meeting in Perth yesterday!
