That's a very nice one, Anne.  How does it compare to 'York Minster'?
Almost in Scotland.

That is a very good question, Alan. I wonder myself and wil post pics for you to decide.
My feeling is that the outers on this one are a little broader and longer and more stripey green than extensively washed green as in York Minster.
I am hoping to get York Minster next year, so I can really compare them.

A lovely scenery, Ralph! The snowdrops look as if they decided on their own to grow there.

"Is it available from the SRGC?"

This little group of G. plicatus spp. byzantinus has been blooming - one after the other - since the end of October. I'm hoping they will clump up in coming years...

This is really an elegant beauty, unlike ´Three Ships´, though I´m glad to grow that one, at least! I wonder why it hasn´t been named, as so many others of less distinction have been.

Thanks Mariette, I don't like the garden to look too tidy!

Autumn-flowering specimens of Galanthus plicatus were unknown (or undocumented) even 3 years ago.  Then a report circulated of some being found in Turkey and now all the serious snowdrop collectors seem to be growing them.  Some sort of synchronicity, I suppose.  But they haven't been around long enough to start being named.
Almost in Scotland.

Thank You for this interesting information, Alan! I wondered whether this autumn-flowering Galanthus plicatus is a seedling of ´Three Ships´, which is shy to set seed with me. As there is even a bunch of this exciting new drops, as You tell, it´s certainly better to test them before naming any.

You are right, Mariette and Alan. I had about 4 blooms one after the other and they alle looked more or less the same to me. I think it is a wild subspecies with normal variations. Ru may have selected particular forms by now - time will tell.

Hi Mariette,
I’ve not had any trouble setting seed with ‘Three Ships’. In fact I got so many seedlings that most of them have been banished to the Allotment, where they astound the other plot holders!
