I enjoyed looking though your pretty seedlings, Carsten!  :D

It would be fun to visit Glenn's Hepatica event to see all her collection!

We are having a cold snap and actually we have had a decent amount of snow. So my propagation area is under snow, but here are some Hepatica I took before the snow started.

Very impressing flowers in shape and colours. Thank you for sharing, Peppa!

To see the National Collection would be very desirable ...

I’m really enjoying everyone’s photos — what beautiful tiny treasures! :)

Peppa, since you’re near me: any tips for growing them in our climate? Do you grow yours in pots to protect from rampaging slugs?

Thanks!

Thanks Carsten for your nice compliments! :)

Kelly, I have Hepatica planted both in pots and in the ground here, and they require less maintenance in the ground. I like to make crosses, which is why I keep many in pots. Hard to cross two plants in the ground on opposite sides of the yard. :)

Peppa and Carsten, it is very nice to see your beautiful Hepatica's.
Most of my Hepatica's are outside in the garden and I am waiting for some sunshine, so that the flowers are more open.

Thanks, Peppa — good to know! At least they won’t mind more snow either way!

they are really pretty ..

but why at home, the Hépatica  are they still in the basal bud stage, while yours have been blooming for nearly a month?

Dear Véronique, most of the pics shown are from potgrown plants. Mine are all placed in a frostfree greenhouse. And the climate with Peppa´s plants at the northwest cost of the US is much more maritime then ours.

Here some more flowers from the greenhouse ...

Hepatica japonica 'Ukigumo'
unnamed double japonica
another colourform of Hepatica pubescens 'Hohobeni' seedlings
and another two japonica seedlings

Such beautiful foundlings, in different shades of blue and so many petals! :) Do you think they are fertile (pollen or seeds)?

Leena, the first plant listed shows some anthers. Hopefully a few turn out to produce fertile pollen.
