So, to sum up, this was a wholly enjoyable experience in a new and vibrant venue ... congratulations to everyone involved. Of course my rose tinted views may have been swayed by the fact that I managed to (finally) achieve a long held ambition to win a third Farrer Medal (after getting numbers one and two in 2000 and 2003 respectively) with a nice, challenging pan of Shortia uniflora ... as my dear friend Brian Smethurst generously pointed out; "You brought ONE RUDDY PLANT to the show; you got ONE RUDDY FIRST with it ... and then had the temerity to get ONE RUDDY FARRER with it!!!!"

Congrats again on your  win, Cliff!
Thanks to all those posting  photos - I know there are  sometimes  problems posting   but the  time and trouble taken is  very  much appreciated to all those  around the world  who never  get a chance to  see these  shows in person.

The latest system where  photos are  automatically  resized  usually works - and I'm grateful to those who persevere and  do not   give up when faced  with a  temporary problem to continue their posts.

I repeat  previous advice  - though I am aware that temporary  hitches  can occur - please  be patient!
A reminder about posting photos
the SRGC Forum has undergone some changes recently and if using the  (attachimg=1)  code ( " inline full-size image option" )  - with the square brackets (rather than the ones I've used to allow you to see without confusing the system with code) it is possible to attach  larger photo sizes which will be automatically resized to the page and open in the  text box.

These are  the square  brackets  [  ]

 8) 8)

This screengrab shows what a post will look like when this method is  used to add photos in the text - using pretty much any device it seems, i-pad, smartphone, whatever!

I arrived at the show early, at about 9:45 and was pleased to find I could walk straight in to see the sales area, even though this was a bit earlier than the advertised start time.  You can see me in side view amongst Stan's pictures of the sales tables.  The sales area was only this quiet right at the start; please don't get the wrong impression, for the rest of the day it was much busier with too many people milling around to get good photos.
Almost in Scotland.

Oh  crikey!  Missed  that !  !! I've told  Sandy  and  made a wee comment  in the  text to say about the  error! I'll get the  proper  one  loaded when Sandy  can fix it!

Saxifraga 'Marco Webr' from Tommy Anderson (16), did not do anything but I liked it

I think this  cultivar may be  correctly  called S. 'Mirko Webr' - http://www.saxifraga.org/plants/saxbase/taxon.asp?Taxon=2868
