And to prove that there can be coincidences, look at this photo from Paddy Parmee of the Farrer Medal winning plant at the AGS Show today at Rosemoor ....

"Farrer medal goes to Jim Mcgregor for this wonderful pot of narcissus bulbocodium conspicuus"

It seems to be sunshine daff day throughout the UK!

David's Forrest medal pot also won the Ben Ledi trophy for best European plant; he received the Glassford Sprunt trophy for best bulbs in a 19 cm pot with another, smaller, N obesus Lee Martin.
Peter Semple took the Quaich for best non European plant with a fine pot of Tecophilea cyanocrocus.
Alan & Jane Thomson won the Spiller Primula trophy against stiff competition with P. Jackie Richards. Their Hepatica Millstream Merlin received a merit certificate as did Sue Simpson-Watt's Anisotome.

Carole Bainbridge- Ian wasn't able to be with us - received a merit certificate for Primula palinuri. Your correspondent again brought most plants so took the Carnegie Dunfermline Trophy for most points in the open section back home again. Carolyn McNab won the Fife County trophy for Section 2.

Can I bring this urgent note to the attention of readers and show-goers:
The following plants were taken from the showbench by mistake - Narcissus Ballet Girl, Senecio leucophyllus. Synthyrus stellate, these were in a cardboard tomato box belonging to M& H Taylor - please can they be returned to Edinburgh Show. (that's on 13th April)
