Cracking Cassiope from "Kidders"!
Good to see what was happening in Solihull as the party was going on in Edinburgh! And next week there is the choice of the AGS in Cleveland and Kent or the SRGC in Perth - something for everyone, eh?

I can fill in some of the details:
The first large six pan rock plants is from Anne Vale - the tulipa was T. praestans Shogun
The second (winning) entry came from Ian Robertson
Three pans of rock plants from Martin & Anna Sheader - it is always great when the exhibitors can pick a multi-pan entry for colour combination
Veronica bombycina from Eric Jarrett
Androsace vandellii from Don Peace
I think that pan of Sanguinaria was from Ron and Hilary Price - there were several so it is hard to be sure
Saxifraga Bridget - David Charlton ? again there were two pans, one was his
Anacamptis laxiflora - who else but Barry Tattersall - a Certificate of Merit
Arisaema thunbergii urashima - I didnt get whose
Fritillaria olivieri - Jim McGregor
Podophyllum delavayi and Clematis marmoraria - whose
Lewisia brachycalyx was Jim McGregor's - won the award for best Lewisia
Not sure whose the Ranunculus alpestris was
Or the Pulsatilla
Ranunculus montanus was from Chris Lilley
The three pan was from Bob Worsley - the Jeffersonia got a Certificate of Merit
Daphne modesta from Robin White - won the best plant in a 19cm pot
Fritillaria crassifolia subsp crassifolia - Ian Robertson
Hope that helps

Many thanks Jon, much appreciated.
Some updates that I do remember:-
Sax' Bridget ... was certainly David Charlton's.
Arisaema thunbergii urashima ... was John and Clare Dower's
The pulsatilla was another of David Charlton's with a very interesting history.
Thanks once again.

While I remember - diary post from Jon Evans in his Photographer's Diary on the AGS site about a recent visit to Wildside, the garden of Keith and Ros Wiley -

Thank you Maggi
I put another post up last night with all my pictures from the Midland Show - that is being reviewed right now (such is the new system) and will appear shortly.

Brilliant pictures as usual Jon. I know it’s not your fault but the font colour used certainly for your Diary entries I find very difficult to read and perhaps those who like me are of a certain age might agree with me. I almost thought about complaining but there seems to be nowhere to complain on the AGS Site

Hi David
It displays as a very dark grey on white for me, which I find very clear. I think the font they use is Montserrat. Depending which browser you are using you can probably use Options override the page settings and choose your own font, size and colour to aid your eyes; certainly I can set it to scandalous colour combinations on Firefox, though I don't think you would find Magenta text on a green background much help. I will get a headache very quickly if I don't change that back.

Perth SRGC SHow today - but meanwhile, at one of the two AGS shows today (Cleveland and Kent)- Kent in this case - Ray Drew has won a Farrer Medal with this pot of Iris pumila ssp attica x Iris acutiloba ssp longipetala - photos from Paddy Parmee
and this potful of purpleness was awarded a Certificate of Merit!
