Seedling photos
« on: August 18, 2019, 04:38:15 PM »
Hi everyone

Total newbie here, my name is Nichola & I'm attempting to grow alpines from seeds.

Would anyone happen to have any pictures of what seedlings look like in the early stages of germination for the following:

Lewisia
Soldanella

Apologies if this is in the wrong place or if there is somewhere on here that already holds this information

Nichola

Hello Nichola, there  do not  seem to be  any  photos  of those  particular  seedlings  in the  Forum's  "Germinating  now" thread - but  if you  have a  search on  The  Seed  Site  - a very  useful website for all sorts  of  seed  related  matters -  http://theseedsite.co.uk  you will be  able  to see some  photos there.  For  instance, Lewisia nevadensis and  Soldanella alpina  :)

Hi Maggi

That site is brilliant & is going to be a permanent bookmark on my phone & laptop  ;D

I've got a few things on the go so at least I can keep a lookout more accurately now.
I thought I had a seedling earlier in the year but it turned out to be a weed so I've got hopefully more of a chance of less contamination seedlings

Thank you for your help :)

If you have a narrow leafed Lewisia species, it might be close to this:
Lewisia rediviva
