April 2019
IRG is  happy to formally introduce a new Galanthus cultivar from Patricia Becker in the USA and three from Krzysztof Ciesielski in Poland.

The  snowdrop photos over the  summer  have  been shown in the  Southern Hemisphre  threads - where  the snowdrop season looks to be  going well  - a nice  reminder  of  galanthus  in northern climes has  arrived  in the  form of the VRV journal today! Back in 2017,  a  new poculiform galanthus  from Poland was  described - G. nivalis 'Fairy Tail'
(IRG 88- http://www.srgc.org.uk/logs/logdir/2017Apr271493318724IRG88.pdf)

In International Rock Gardener 112 of April 2019,  a new  American 'drop, named  by Patricia Becker and three more Polish  snowdrops, named  by Krzysztof Ciesielski, were  described. That  issue  can be  found  here:
http://www.srgc.org.uk/logs/logdir/2019Apr261556270768IRG_112_April_2019.pdf

Now the journal of the   Vlaamse Rotsplanten Vereniging ( VRV - Flemish Rock Garden Club - https://www.vrvforum.be/ )  also includes an article from the finder  of those Polish snowdrops,  Dr Krzysztof Ciesielski. The 'drops included are  'FairyTail' 'Forest Muse' 'Trust' and 'Wim Boens'
Great to see!

example pages  from the  VRV journal.....

Thanks Maggi. Very interesting. The Iris article is a bit of a marathon but fantastic photography.
