Galanthus in December 2019
« on: December 02, 2019, 07:48:30 PM »
Seed from Anne Wright of Galanthus peshmenii, the pot was forgotten in the dormant room and so was very late getting its first watering, hence the lateness.  Could this be a squinny little albino peshmenii in the crowd?

True Maggi,

Early signs of fasciation on my Glenorma again... From experience, this bud is likely to produce one flower for each pair of spathe 'windows'. Does no-one else get fasciation regularly on this, or any other, cultivar?

Some snowdrops yesterday.

Galanthus corcyrensis in the front garden

655660-0

Galanthus corcyrensis in the back garden.  This clump gets no sun when above the ground and is hidden under a large Hosta in the summer. I think it does better here than in full sun in a well drained position.

655662-1

Galanthus 'Fred's Giant' looking well advanced.

Nice to see all your snowdrops! :)
Here there are noses above the ground, but luckily nothing more. Cold is bound to come in January, but already it looks like it is going to be a mild winter here.

Galanthus ‘Gabriel’ is fully blooming today  :)

  The angel Gabriel from heaven came,
  his wings as drifted snow, his eyes as flame;
  "All hail", said he, "thou lowly maiden Mary,
  most highly favoured lady." Gloria.

I'm not a christian, thow  ::)
Have a peaceful winter holiday season!  :)
