Steve, in reply #7, 3 April,  I am delighted to see that you posted photos of two beautiful plants native to my region, Olsynium douglasii and Synthyris missurica ssp stellata. Interesting, too, is that they apparently have about the same bloom time as here.  The Olsynium grows in great swathes along the field edges and is joined by Frittilaria pudica and Ranunculus glaberrimus.  Synthyris missurica is native to the Craig Mtns. a few minutes' drive south of this ranch and grows very happily in a north slope garden here.

This plant is such good value, flowers for ages and only needs a quick whip-round with the shears at the end of flowering. Iberis sempervirens 'Fischbeck'
